Secretary
Kiyante Beaugris is a graduate student in the Master of Population Health Informatics program. She has an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Society/ Public Health (SUNY Old Westbury). She aims to utilize the knowledge gained in this program as a bridge, that along with her background in nursing, can facilitate to better health outcomes on a larger scale. Her background includes working as a nurse in a variety of settings including long-term care, adult day healthcare and managed long-term care. In addition, she has experience working alongside the Nassau County Health Department as a vaccinator during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kiyante aims to someday make significant strides in the effort to reduce mistrust in healthcare among minorities, and furthermore, to facilitate acceptance of the vaccination process within this same population. She believes that information technologies are the key to understanding the bigger picture as it relates to healthcare, and that a degree in Informatics will help to facilitate much-needed change.
